Colorado

We rode into Colorado today, benefitting from sunny, temperate weather and the absence of winds. We were reminiscing about how, 25 years ago, this stretch included rain, mud and five flat tires: all of them fixed by dad.

We rode from Riverside to Walden, Colo., stopping only occassionlly since there weren't any towns in between. (Sorry, Cowdrey!) The next option for stopping was about 30 miles farther along, so we did a short day of around 50 miles. We're camping in the city park tonight.

We have a big day planned for tomorrow, hoping to make it down past Kremmling to Green Mountain Reservoir. That 80-plus mile day would set us up for a short day into Breckenridge where we plan to take a day off.
