Day 2

We left Corvallis following a nice breakfast and some fiddling with the new camp stove. (It heats really well but starts out with a big flame.) The ride was mostly flat and rainy, through Lebanon and then Sweet Home, where we bought groceries.

We are staying at Cascadia State Park and practically have the place to ourselves. We went down to the water, where we swam 25 years ago. It was freezing, and also a lot higher, but you can still see the rocks that were exposed when we first visited.

Tomorrow is our big day in the Cascades, beginning with Tombstone Pass.
